Businesses in the town and the surrounding villages

Dear Prospective Member

March 2013

Dear Prospective Member

Yours is one of 500 businesses in the Wilton Community Area (which, in addition to Wilton, covers Alvediston, Barford St. Martin, Bishopstone, Burcombe, Bowerchalke, Broad Chalke, Compton Chamberlayne, Dinton, Ebbesbourne Wake, Harnham, Little Wishford, Netherhampton, Quidhampton, South Newton, Stoford, Teffont Evia and Teffont Magna), whose interests your local Business Chamber was founded to promote.

Our principal mission is to generate increased business activity through hosting business-to-business networking and social events (Do you know the range of goods and services on offer in your area? Do other local businesses know about and recommend you?), to provide information to potential customers both locally and those visiting the area (Did you know that 450 new homes are to be built in Wilton?), to canvass your opinion on local business issues and to act an information conduit and business voice.

You will find enclosed a Chamber Questionnaire. Please complete it and return it to us and, in return, we will give you a free listing on our new website, which has reciprocal links to our Community Team partners’ sites – a one-stop-shop for those wanting to know about the area – whether they’re considering re-locating here (remember those 450 new homes), planning their holiday or looking for a reliable local supplier, provider or trades person .

You might also think about joining us. Your £75 for the period 01/04/13 – 31/03/14 will not only boost your business potential, but give you:

  • in addition to your FREE website listing, exposure on Facebook, Linked In and Twitter, increased website visibility by providing details of your business activity and a link to your own site
  • a 5% discount offered by our insurers to you and your staff on all new insurance quotations – business and otherwise
  • some member-to-member discounts, including a generous offer by Valley News of a 10% discount on advertising for WDBC members
  • reduced rates for our breakfast (and some other) networking events
  • the opportunity to be represented at our Business Expo.

Ours is a not-for-profit enterprise, where your Executive commit their time as volunteers, but which is nevertheless reliant on membership fee income in order to meet our administrative costs and to fund the services of a part-paid, part-time Business Manager to “oil the wheels” of the Chamber, organise events and keep members updated as to local business news, training and other opportunities.

I look forward to receiving your completed questionnaire and contact details for your website listing. I hope, too, to welcome you as a member of the Chamber. Please contact Emma Scott, our Business Manager, on  07565 770161 or, or use our online membership form.

Yours sincerely
